| DUTIES: | This position is at Nathan Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research - Manhattan Psychiatric Center, Psychopharmacology Research Program, Dunlap Building, 15th Floor, Ward's Island, New York, NY 10035. Full-time position, working in close collaboration with the Principal Investigator (PI) and research team members. Responsibilities include: 1) Analysis of research data and preparation of publications. To propose appropriate analysis procedures for behavioral research data in the psychopharmacological treatment of schizophrenia, to implement and interpret results of proposed statistical analysis based on familiarity with statistical computer packages such as SPSS and/or SAS; 2) Development of grant proposals. To develop under the guidance of the PI research ideas into grant proposals in the area of biological and cognitive treatment of schizophrenia. To summarize and analyze background data based on literature review and preliminary study results. To draft appropriate methodologies and procedures for proposed studies, and to draft grant proposals in the required format of grant agencies; 3) Research coordination. To serve as coordinator for a small psychopharmacological trial under the direct supervision of the PI, involving preparation of research documents, rating instruments, and patient screening procedures, review of the appropriateness of proposed research subjects, interaction with clinical staff and the research team, and monitoring the patient flow and the implementation of assessments. Administration of patient assessment procedures, such as rating scales and neurocognitive computerized testing is also included. |
| EDUCATION: | Master's degree preferred in psychology or related field. |
| TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: | Background in statistics and schizophrenia research a plus. Familiar with grant writing, SPSS and SAS, and excellent scientific writing skills. |
