POSITION:Research Support Assistant Level II-NL Grade 9
Salary: $29,109.00 - $32,000.00 + $3,026.00 Location Pay
 
DEPARTMENT:MOLECULAR IMAGING AND NEUROPATHOLOGY
 
DUTIES:This position is for an individual who will report directly to Dr. Underwood. The Research Support Assistant will perform the day-to-day implementation of the duties listed below which will be reviewed and supervised by Dr. Underwood. Supervisory Responsibilities/Other: Responsible for coordinating the activities of lab staff, students and volunteers within the Department. Data Management: Coordinate the integration of project data; summarize data, prepare graphs and tables, assist in manuscript preparation and submission. Grants and Contracts - Pre-Award: Prepare drafts of budget justifications, maintain other support and biosketch pages for key department personnel, compile and format applications to meet sponsor specifications, work with grants management personnel of the Division, RFMH and CU to ensure timely submission of all required documents. Grant Submissions - to be trained in the use of InfoEd and Rascal (on-line federal grants submission process) and submit grants. Grants and Contracts - Post Award: Compile reports as required by sponsor, work with lab staff and grants, purchasing and human resources offices to prevent/resolve problems. IACUC/IRB - Draft protocols for submission to the appropriate offices (on-line submissions for IACUC/IRB - Rascal), track IACUC/IRB expiration and revision dates, and keep track of the non-competing submission dates. Purchasing/Payables: Prepare requisitions for lab supplies, equipment, and services. Human Resources/Payroll: Prepare job descriptions and requirements for posting, submit hiring paperwork and work closely with the RFMH and CU Personnel offices.
 
EDUCATION:Bachelor degree in Biology or related field preferred.
 
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:No experience required. Organizational skills needed. Must be detail oriented, able to work independently, have initiative, flexibility and problem-solving abilities.
