POSITION:	Technical Specialist Level II Grade 19
	Salary: $50,454.00 - $62,432.00 + $3,026.00 Location Pay
DEPARTMENT:	CLINICAL THERAPEUTICS
DUTIES:	The data analyst will assist in analyzing data from several large national data sets related to epidemiology and health services research in mental health and substance abuse research with personnel from the NYSPI Biostatistics Division.
EDUCATION:	Minimum of bachelor's degree in mathematics and/or statistics; M.S. in biostatistics or statistics preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:	Must be comfortable working with large complex data sets and with several different investigators. Must be very familiar with statistical software, including SPSS, SAS, and S-Plus/R. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be familiar with working with large clinical data sets, and must be able to communicate statistical principles to researchers without strong statistical backgrounds.
