POSITION:Research Support Assistant Level III-NL Grade 11
Salary: $32,522.00 + $3,026.00 Location Pay
 
DEPARTMENT:CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY
 
DUTIES:As part of three large, longitudinal epidemiological studies of children and parents that involve interviewing families in the community, the incumbent will be responsible for a wide range of activities including but not limited to: coordinating field and office activities, subject tracking, protocol and interview coordination, data cleaning, interview scheduling, interviewing, interaction with service agencies, etc. The incumbent will also document study and related tasks, as needed. In addition, the incumbent will assist in the preparation of study questionnaires, grant applications, and perform all related tasks as required. The new hire will also participate in the preparation of manuscripts, conducting literature searches and perform preliminary data analysis.
 
EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree preferred with at least three years relevant experience. Master's degree in Epidemiology, Social Sciences, or Public Health strongly preferred. Interview experience required.
 
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with investigators, experience / training in children's mental health. Interview experience required. Proven ability to write and manipulate data.
 
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Previous experience with interviewing children and coordinating research activities. Knowledge and experience with SPSS or SAS. Proven attention to details. Must be able to work nights and weekends. This position involves regular and substantial contact with children. The successful candidate will be screened through the New York State Central Child Abuse Register prior to assuming any duties that will involve contact with children.
