POSITION:Research Support Assistant Level III Grade 13
Salary: $34,347.00 + $3,026.00 Location Pay
 
DEPARTMENT:SUBSTANCE ABUSE
 
DUTIES:Under the general supervision of the Principle Investigator, the Research Support Assistant will be involved in studies designed to examine the effects of methamphetamine. The duties will include: 1) implement research studies described in funded grants as approved by the IRB; 2) Help coordinate protocols such as telephone interviews, screen interviews, physicals and psychiatric interviews; 4) Maintain database, help with data analyses and graphics; 5) Monitor laboratory sessions; 6) Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment; 7) Schedule participant appointments; 8) Train participants on study tasks; 9) Train other research assistants to carry out duties coexistent with protocol.
 
EDUCATION:Bachelors Degree preferred with emphasis on behavioral science or training and experience to compensate preferred.
 
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:1) Some experience in Behavioral science laboratory and/or human subjects research; 2) Data entry skills, experience with Macintosh computer preferred.
 
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be well-organized, able to work with minimal supervision, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Must be meticulous in carrying out research protocols and enjoy working with human research subjects; be familiar with various software programs (e.g. Excel, Cricket Graph, Word, Canvas, PowerPoint). Must be certified in phebotomy or obtain certification before drawing any blood samples.
