| DUTIES: | Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. has an opening for a part-time (50% effort or 20 hours/week) data manager (master's level preferred) to fulfill the data management/analytic needs for the Unit in Birth Cohort Studies, Division of Epidemiology, at the New York Psychiatric Institute. Under the supervision of the PI and biostatistician, the incumbent will assist the research team in data management, and assisting in the planning and execution of epidemiological studies investigating major psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and autism. The position also requires programming and carrying out statistical analysis on projects using standard statistical packages, and in conjunction with the PI and other staff, interpreting and presenting results, and preparing data for manuscripts. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting the research team in use of statistical and data management software, and in advising research team members on issues related to data management and analyses. |
| TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: | Candidates must have experience working with large data sets and advanced modeling techniques for longitudinal data (mixed effects models, GEE, GLM) and must be able to communicate statistical principles to researchers without strong statistical backgrounds. Candidates must have expertise with statistical software (e.g., SPSS,SAS), and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with basic programming languages is preferred but not necessary. |
